Playing the game
How do I aim?
Switch to Aim mode at the top of the screen. Drag one finger to rotate the ball alignment toward the line you want. Two fingers pan, pitch and zoom the camera so you can read the green from the angle a real golfer would.
How do I take the putt?
Switch to Putt mode. Touch the circle on the bottom stroke bar, drag back through the circle, then forward through impact, and release. Longer back-swings hit harder; an off-center release loses speed and angles the ball.
How do I read the slope?
Tap and hold the map icon (top right). A live heatmap appears across the green with flowing direction arrows — green areas are flat, red areas are steep, and the arrows show which way the ball wants to roll. Release the button to hide it.
Why does my putt curve so much?
Real LiDAR data drives the slope. Holding the slope view shows where the break is — start your line up the hill of the break, not at the cup itself. The faster you hit it, the less the slope bends the roll.
What's the Tap In button?
If your previous putt stopped inside the tap-in circle around the hole, PuttPOV offers a one-tap finish on the next shot. You can ignore it and putt normally if you'd rather.
Where are my scores saved?
Locally on your device under the key PuttPOV.PuttHoleRecords.v1. They are included in your iCloud device backup but are never sent to our servers.

What's free and what costs money?

I bought "Unlock Everything" on another device — how do I restore it?
Tap any locked green to open the unlock sheet, then tap Restore. Sign into the same Apple ID you used for the purchase. Family Sharing is enabled, so household members can also redeem it from the unlock sheet.
The purchase didn't go through.
Apple's StoreKit handles all payments. Check your App Store account for an active payment method, then try again. For charge or refund questions use reportaproblem.apple.com.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find PuttPOV in your purchases, and submit a refund request.
Privacy & data
What data does PuttPOV collect?
Anonymous gameplay analytics and crash reports through Firebase. No name, email, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access. Full details on the Privacy page.
How do I delete my analytics data?
Email pondd.me@gmail.com from the device you played on (or mention your device model). We'll initiate deletion in Firebase within 30 days.
Bugs and crashes
The app crashed — what now?
Crash reports are sent automatically via Crashlytics so we usually see them within minutes. If a specific green or shot reproducibly crashes, email us with the details below and we'll prioritize it.
The slope or roll seems wrong on a specific green.
Email us the green name, distance to hole, and a quick description of what looked wrong. Real LiDAR data has imperfections; if a green needs a re-generation pass we can do that.
