How to play
The mechanic
A slab slides back and forth above the tower. Tap anywhere to place it. The closer you bind to the previous slab's center, the more grace.
Perfect bind
If your tap aligns within the perfect threshold, the slab snaps to dead-center, the bell rings, and the Echoes briefly fall silent. Five perfects in a row: the silence-of-grace.
Misalignment
Slabs do not trim — misses lean. Towers wobble more as they rise. They always wobble.
Snap and lock
Every ten binds, the most recent ten slabs snap and lock together — they become permanent tower structure (dark grey) and can no longer drift. Bind well to make stable foundations.
Collapse
If any slab falls below the Plinth, the tower fails. The cosmos around it ends. The slabs cool and drift back to the Vault, to be re-issued to the next Anchorite. The cycle continues.
FAQ
Why is there no music?
There's an ambient drone for each of the eight strata, a low hum that tracks the slab's slide, and a chime on perfect binds. It's intentionally minimal — designed to sit alongside your own music, podcasts, or silence.
My audio cut out after a phone call.
The game pauses audio during interruptions and resumes when they end. If something gets stuck, lock and unlock the screen, or quit and re-launch. Email me if it persists.
Can I turn off the haptics?
Yes. Tap the gear icon (top-left) → toggle Haptics off. Same for audio.
What are the whispers?
Past Anchorites. Each tower that ever fell scattered fragments — those fragments now whisper. Different situations summon different voices. They are not always kind.
How do I reach the Vault?
You don't. No Anchorite has. Each cycle reaches a margin higher than the last. The Echoes say someday an Anchorite will reach it. Don't believe them. Bind anyway.
How do I reset my best score?
Gear icon → Reset next to "Closest approach". A confirmation will appear; this can't be undone.
Does the game collect my data?
No personal data. We collect anonymous gameplay analytics and crash reports to improve the game. See the privacy policy for full detail.
Will there be more biomes / a sequel?
The Rumored stratum (past 600) is currently unnamed. What's beyond it is rumored. Email me if you've reached it.
