Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 28, 2026
Stackcycle ("the App") respects your privacy. This policy describes what information the App collects, why, and how it's used. Plain English first; legal language is unavoidable in places. Reach out at pondd.me@gmail.com with any questions.
The short version
- The App does not collect your name, email, location, photos, contacts, microphone, or any other personal information.
- The App does not require an account, login, or any registration.
- The App does not show ads, sell or share data, or track you across other apps and websites.
- The App collects anonymous gameplay analytics and crash reports to help improve the game.
- Your settings (audio mute, haptics, best score) are stored only on your device.
What the App collects
Anonymous gameplay analytics (via Firebase Analytics)
To understand how players experience the game, the App reports anonymous events such as:
- When a cycle begins or ends, with the final score and the biome reached
- When you cross into a new biome (which biome, at what score)
- When you hit score milestones (25, 50, 100, etc.)
- When a streak of perfect binds is reached
- Whether settings (audio, haptics) are toggled — boolean values only
- App lifecycle events (launch, pause, resume, settings opened)
These events do not contain personal information. Firebase Analytics may also collect standard device-level data such as iOS version, device model, app version, language, and approximate region (country-level only). No precise location is collected.
Anonymous crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics)
If the App crashes, an anonymous crash report is sent so the bug can be fixed. Reports include:
- The crash stack trace (where in the code the crash happened)
- Device model, iOS version, app version
- Game state at the time of the crash (current biome, score, paused state)
- An anonymous device-scoped identifier (Apple's identifierForVendor) used only to group repeated crashes from the same device
The identifier is not tied to your Apple ID, name, email, or any personal information. It is unique per app/vendor pair on your device and resets if you uninstall and reinstall the App.
Stored locally on your device
The following are stored in iOS's standard local preferences (UserDefaults) and never leave your device:
- Your best score ("closest approach")
- Your audio mute preference
- Your haptics preference
- Whether you've completed onboarding
You can wipe the best score from the in-game Settings panel. All local preferences are removed automatically if you uninstall the App.
Third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy linked below:
- Firebase Analytics (Google) — Firebase privacy · Google privacy
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — same privacy policies as above
The App does not use any advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or social-media SDKs.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact pondd.me@gmail.com and any such information will be deleted.
Your rights
Because the App does not collect personal information, there is generally nothing personal to access, export, or delete. If you are subject to GDPR, CCPA, or another privacy regulation and would like to exercise rights regarding the anonymous analytics data associated with your device, contact pondd.me@gmail.com with your device's anonymous identifier (visible in the in-game Settings panel under future updates) and the data will be removed within 30 days where technically feasible.
You can stop all analytics and crash-report transmission at any time by:
- Disabling "Allow Apps to Request to Track" in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Restricting the App's network access in iOS Settings → Cellular / Wi-Fi
- Uninstalling the App
Data retention
Anonymous analytics events are retained by Firebase for up to 14 months by default. Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days. Local data on your device persists until you reset it in-app or uninstall the App.
International users
The App is operated from outside the European Union and the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of anonymous data to the United States and any other jurisdictions where Firebase / Google Cloud operates servers.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the App evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version. Significant changes will be announced in the App's release notes.
